Who We Are
Buzz and Barrel
Buzz and Barrel was founded with a single purpose: to bring the extraordinary honey of Polish meadows to customers across the United Kingdom. We believe that honey — real, raw, unprocessed honey — is one of nature's most remarkable foods, and that most people have never tasted it at its best.
We work exclusively with two exceptional producers: Leśny Dwór (the Forest Manor), a family apiary with over ninety years of history, and APIS 1932, Poland's oldest and most celebrated mead producer. Both share our commitment to tradition, quality and complete transparency about what goes into every jar and bottle.
Our Honey Partner
Leśny Dwór Apiary
Nestled in the Polish countryside, Leśny Dwór has been tending bees since the 1930s. The apiary sits surrounded by wildflower meadows, linden groves, and ancient forests — the ideal environment for producing honey of exceptional diversity and character.
Every jar from Leśny Dwór is sealed with their signature linen cap, tied with natural twine and stamped with a red wax seal bearing the apiary's emblem. It is a tradition unchanged for generations — a mark of authenticity and pride.
The honey is never heated above 40°C, never filtered beyond a coarse straining, and never blended with honeys from other sources. What you receive is exactly what the bees produced.
Our Mead Partner
APIS 1932
Founded in 1932, APIS is Poland's oldest and most respected mead producer. Their meads are crafted using recipes that trace back to medieval Poland, when mead was the drink of kings and nobility.
APIS produces four traditional grades of mead — Czwórniak, Trójniak, Dwójniak, and the extraordinary Półtorak — each distinguished by the ratio of honey to water and the length of ageing. All are made exclusively from Polish honey, with no artificial additives or flavourings.

Buzz and Barrel is committed to responsible alcohol retail in the United Kingdom. We operate under a full Premises Licence and Personal Licence as required by the Licensing Act 2003. All mead and honey wine purchases require age verification (18+). We operate a Challenge 25 policy and use certified digital age verification in compliance with the Online Safety Act 2025.
